HC Deb 18 April 1921 vol 140 c1546W
Mr. SWAN

asked the Lord Privy Seal what expenditure the cost of maintaining the coal control up to 31st August would have involved the State?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

I have been asked to reply. The cost to the State of continuing the Coal Mines (Emergency) Act to the 31st August must be conjectural, as it would have depended largely on the course of prices. If prices and costs had been maintained at the March level the cost would have been about £30,000,000.
