HC Deb 29 November 1920 vol 135 c938W
Mr. DEVLIN

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether his attention has been called to the shooting of a boy named Thomas Lyons, of Knappagh, Westport, by armed forces of the Crown who were passing in a lorry; whether the boy was on a message at the time for his father, who is postmaster at Glynck, and was shot within a few yards of his destination; and whether he will take steps to have the malefactors in this case brought to justice?

Sir H. GREENWOOD

According to a police report which I have received a man named Thomas Lyons, who was a blacksmith, aged 27 years, was shot dead near Westport by a military cycle patrol on the 21st instant. His death was due to the fact that he did not halt when called upon to do so.
