HC Deb 29 November 1920 vol 135 c948W
Captain C. CRAIG

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that several accidents have happened at a level crossing known as the Meeting House crossing on the Great Northern Railway of Ireland, at Dunmurry, county Antrim; that the latest of these accidents, which took place on the 15th instant, resulted in a motor van being smashed by a passing train and the driver narrowly escaping death; and that immediately before the War the railway company took steps to have other means substituted for crossing the line; why nothing has been done in this direction; and whether he will take steps at once to protect the inhabitants of this evergrowing neighbourhood from the dangers of this level crossing?

Sir E. GEDDES

I am aware of the recent accident referred to, and of one previous accident in the year 1911. I understand that the crossing is not a public road crossing, but I am asking for the observations of the railway company on the points raised by the hon. and gallant Gentleman, and I will communicate with him on receipt of their reply.
