HC Deb 24 November 1920 vol 135 c456W
Brigadier-General COLVIN

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the War Office whether an employé at a Government munition factory will, if he takes his discharge prior to the expiration of his age limit, be entitled to a gratuity at the usual scale?

Sir A. WILLIAMSON

The gratuities to unestablished employés at the industrial establishments under the War Office are regulated by Section 4 of the Superannuation Act, 1887. Retirement at an individual's own request before the age of 60 normally renders him ineligible for gratuity; but if the hon. and gallant Member would furnish me with fuller details of any cases he has in mind I shall be happy to go into the matter further and give him a more precise answer.
