HC Deb 24 November 1920 vol 135 cc471-2W
Mr. RAFFAN

asked the Home Secretary whether, in view of the proposed dissolution of the Central Control Board (Liquor Traffic), he will take steps to secure that no new undertakings are entered upon by the Board at Carlisle or elsewhere while the Liquor Traffic (Temporary Provisions) Bill is under consideration?

Mr. SHORTT

It has long been understood that the Board would not undertake any new schemes of direct control of the liquor traffic without fresh Parliamentary sanction; and this understanding covers, of course, the period referred to by the hon. Member.
