HC Deb 24 November 1920 vol 135 c471W
Captain BAGLEY

asked the Home Secretary whether the remuneration of borough coroners is limited by law and has remained unaltered for 23 years; and whether the Government can see their way to pass a short Bill this Session enabling the pay of these public servants to be adjusted to present day conditions?

Mr. SHORTT

There has been no change in the law on this point for much longer than 23 years. It is not possible to legislate on this matter during the present Session.
