Mr. DOYLEasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the fact that the delay in issuing Regulations to give effect to the recommendations of the Committee set up to inquire into the determination of a standard for condensed milks facilitates the importation of condensed milk with low standards of cream, to the detriment of consumers who mainly consist of the labouring classes and include a large number of infants, and in view of the fact, also, that this delay causes damage to the British industry for producing the article in this country, and has resulted in a considerable reduction in production here, urgent consideration will be given to the question?
§ Dr. ADDISONThe preparation of Regulations of this nature is a matter which necessarily takes time, but they are now in an advanced state, and I can assure the hon. Member that it is being proceeded with without any avoidable delay.
