HC Deb 03 May 1920 vol 128 cc1736-7W
Mr. SPOOR

asked the Home Secretary whether instructions are issued from any Department under his control as to the reporting of speeches by certain indivi duals or at meetings arranged by certain organisations, or whether the hunting down of Socialists is left to the initiative of the local police authorities?

Mr. SHORTT

There are no general instructions in regard to meetings, but each police authority deals with the meetings in its own area. There is no such thing as a hunting down of Socialists.
