HC Deb 03 May 1920 vol 128 c1729W
Mr. J. DAVISON

asked the Minister of Food whether his attention has been drawn to the fact that the bakers in the town of Aldershot are charging 1s.1d. for a 4–1b. loaf for bread sold over the counter and 1s. 1½d. per 4-lb. loaf delivered; and whether, in view of the fact that these prices are in excess of those charged in other centres where establishment charges must be greater, he can take any action in the matter?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

The prices of bread prevailing throughout the country are being kept under careful observation. I have caused special inquiry to be made into the case referred to, and I will inform the hon. Member of the result.
