Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe sum credited to Germany under this contract amounts up to the 30th instant to £612,838. His Majesty's Government have agreed to place the amounts due to Germany under the contract to the credit of the German Government in a London Bank on the receipt of an undertaking that the money will be used for the purchase of food in this country, and are1276W awaiting the receipt of an undertaking to this effect.
