§ Mr. CLOUGHasked the President of the Board of Trade why his Department has not obtained from the oil-importing companies a detailed financial statement to justify the increase in the cost of petrol; and whether this policy of obtaining such information directly from the large trade organisations concerned in this and in similar cases can be adopted?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANI assume that the Sub-Committee which investigated the question under the Profiteering Act obtained such information as they considered necessary for the purpose of their Report. I will bring the suggestion made in the latter part of the question to the notice of the Central Committee.
