WOODasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, as regards men of under 21 years of age who have been killed in the defence of their country, his attention has been called to the effect of the statutory Regulation whereby insurance companies are only required, on the death of an insured person under 21, to return the premium that has been paid: and whether he can see his way to introduce legislation to exempt the 1336W estate of those under 21 who have been killed in action from the operation of this Regulation, in view of the fact that it, was designed to meet totally different circumstances?
§ Sir A. GEDDESI have been asked to reply. I am not aware of any statutory Regulation of the kind referred to by my hon. Friend, and shall be glad if he will send particulars of some of the cases which he has in mind.
