§ Colonel Sir JAMES CRAIGUnder the special scheme of retirement, lieutenants promoted from mate who are under 36 years of age, and who, with the consent of the Admiralty, retire voluntarily within the period allowed, will receive a gratuity of £1,000, with an addition of £150 for each year's seniority in the confirmed rank either of lieutenant or mate.
