§ Mr. A. SHORTasked the Minister of Health whether the Ministry recently refused to sanction the building of 250 houses at Portsdown; and, if so, the reason for its refusal?
§ Dr. ADDISONIt is not the case that the Ministry of Health have refused to sanction the building of houses at Ports down. The position is that the Local Builders' Association were asked to submit prices for the erection of a preliminary 300 houses, but their quotations were too high to be acceptable and, I understand, that the Portsmouth Town Council have now decided to advertise for tenders for the erection of these houses.
