HC Deb 28 April 1920 vol 128 c1258W
Mr. T. GRIFFITHS

asked the Postmaster-General whether seven ex-Royal Engineer telegraphists in the Bristol Telegraph Office whose colour service should count towards their increments of pay in the Post Office have been informed that, because of the War, four years will be deducted from their military service in the calculations on which their pay will be based; what justification there is for this penalty; and whether, having regard to the heavy average loss of over 10s. per week per man, he will urge the Treasury to reconsider its decision?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for the Bother Valley Division of Yorkshire (Mr. Grundy) on the 31st March last.
