§ Mr. FOREMANasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the fact that the high cost of living shows little sign of becoming less, and is even in respect of many articles of every-day consumption becoming higher, and whether, too, in view of the all-round increases of remuneration to all forms of labour, he will reconsider the appeal of Government pensioners, especially those with moderate pensions which no longer suffice to meet the actual necessities of everyday existence?
§ Mr. BALDWINI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to the hon. Member for South Down on the subject on the 6th August last. I regret that I cannot see my way to make any further concession in the matter.
