§ Mr. BRIDGEMANNo special plans are-at present being formulated by the Government with respect to the iron and steel industries, and it is in my right hon. Friend's opinion most desirable that Government action should only be supplementary to the effects of those actually engaged in those industries. The report of the Departmental Committee, on which the, hon. Member served, indicated lines which might be taken by the industries with a view to their development and increased efficiency.
