HC Deb 26 November 1919 vol 121 c1822W
MR. SPOOR

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been drawn to the evidence of the Attorney-General in Southern Rhodesia before Lord Cave's Commission, wherein the admission is made that the loot divided under the secret agreement made with Sir Starr Jameson's followers in the invasion of Matabeleland in 1893 included cattle which the invaders sold, in their personal interests, at 30s. to 35s. per head; and whether he will inquire the total number of cattle so divided as loot to these invaders?

Lieut.-Colonel AMERY

I have noticed the evidence given on the subject. As regards the second part of the question, the figures will be found on page 46 of the Parliamentary Paper C.8547.
