HC Deb 25 November 1919 vol 121 c1652W
Mr. HANCOCK

asked the Minister of Health whether he has been strongly urged by various boards of guardians to amend the Local Government Act of 1888 so as to increase the repayment made on behalf of pauper lunatics, because of the in creased cost of maintenance; and, if so can he take any steps in the matter?

Dr. ADDISON

I have received communications upon the subject from a number of boards of guardians. I can only refer the hon. Member to the reply given on the 28th ultimo to the hon. and gallant Member for the Isle of Ely.
