asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he can state the number of murders, or attempted murders, of soldiers and members of the Royal Irish Constabulary and Dublin Metro politan Police which have occurred in Ire land in the course of the past year, stating in each case the province in which they have taken place?

In the Dublin Metropolitan Police area during the past year there were three murders and eight attempted murders of police, and one attempted murder of a soldier.
