HC Deb 24 November 1919 vol 121 cc1466-7W
Major Earl WINTERTON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions if he can state the average price at which Army blankets are sold by the Surplus Stores Department; and what is the average price at which they are retailed to the public?

Mr. KELLAWAY

New single blankets arc sold at prices varying between 13s. and 17s. each, and part-worn blankets, which include a large number of white Navy double blankets, between 8s. 6d. and 21s., each according to their size, quality, and condition. I have no knowledge as to the average price at which they arc retailed to the public, but the Disposal Board is in constant communication with the Profiteering Department of the Board of Trade, and keeps that Department informed as to the particulars of tales effected.
