§ Mr. FORESTIER-WALKERasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the 393W Exchequer contribution of 4s. a week, being calculated at 50 per cent, of the cost of maintenance of pauper lunatics in an asylum, no longer represents an adequate contribution, in view of the fact that the cost of maintenance to-day ranges between 21s. and 28s. and whether he can hold out any hope of this matter being reconsidered by an amendment of the Local Government Act, 1888, so as to provide repayment to the guardians of at least half of the actual cost instead of, as at present, representing about one-eighth?
§ Dr. ADDISONI can only refer the hon. Member to the reply given on the 28th ultimo to the hon. and gallant Member for the Isle of Ely.
