STANIERasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether the President has received a strong resolution from the Royal Agricultural Society against the importation of Canadian store cattle into this country; whether the Cabinet has gone into the matter; and, if so, what do they propose to do?
Sir A. BOSCAWENThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part, the whole matter is receiving the most careful consideration of the Government, In any case no change in the existing restrictions can be made without fresh legislation.
