HC Deb 18 November 1919 vol 121 c410W
Mr. G. LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked the Secretary of Stats for War whether he is aware that officers who have lost prismatic binoculars and revolvers whilst on active service, and have subsequently been supplied with certificates for a free issue from Ordnance in respect of them, are refused duplicates if they have become disembodied in the meantime; and whether, having regard to the fact that these officers were required by the War Office to equip themselves with these articles, and their loss is due to no fault of their own, he will state what are the reasons for the refusal to supply them with duplicates?

Mr. FORSTER

Free replacement of binoculars and revolvers lost owing to a military risk is only made if the articles are required for further military service.
