Mr. HARMSWORTHThe answer to the first part of the hon. and gallant Member's question is in the affirmative. The object of sending British troops to Memel is not that they shall operate in territory forming part of the former Russian Empire, but that they shall form part of the Allied Army of Occupation which is to take charge of Memel in accordance with Article 99 of the Treaty of Peace with Germany.
