Mr. ROBERTSI am afraid that it is not possible to give the figure for which the hon. Member asks, as whisky is not distinguished from other spirits in the official records of the Board of Customs and Excise; and whisky coming from Canada and the United States is placed in bond, on arrival, under the head of "spirit" only. As regards the last part of the question, the public are protected by the provision of the Spirits (Prices and Description) Order, which prescribes varying prices in accordance with the strength of the spirits sold.
