HC Deb 04 November 1919 vol 120 c1342W
Sir A. WILLIAMSON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Shipping Controller if he will state the number of German sailing vessels in Chilean ports on the conclusion of the Armistice; whether these ships are in condition for service; what it is intended to do with them; and what number have so far been put to service?

Colonel WILSON

At the conclusion of the Armistice there were in Chilean ports fifty-seven German sailing vessels, none of which have been put into service or are in a condition for service at present. The ultimate disposal will be determined by the Reparation Commission under the Peace Treaty.
