HC Deb 29 May 1919 vol 116 c1453W
Mr. CROOKS

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether, in connection with the claim for further compensation in the case of W. C. Field, who sustained injuries on the 19th October, 1917, through being crushed between the main gate of Woolwich Dockyard and an Army Service Corps motor lorry, to which his attention was drawn on the 19th November last, he can now state the result of his inquiries into the matter?

Mr. FORSTER

It appears from inquiries that the driver of the War Department lorry was in no way to blame, so that no case for further compensation beyond that already allowed arises, but the War Office is prepared to pay for the artificial teeth, and this will be done immediately.
