HC Deb 28 May 1919 vol 116 cc1259-60W
Mr. R. McNEILL

asked the postmaster-General if he is aware that an application for a telephone exchange line was made by the secretary of the Herne Bay National Kitchen in February last, and that the special surcharge of £4, payable before the installation can be made was duly paid more than three months since, but that no telephone has yet been installed; if he is aware that the National Kitchen, which is doing work of great importance for the benefit of the public, is hampered by the lack of telephone facilities; and whether, in view of these circumstances, he will give instructions that the exchange line applied for shall be installed in priority to other applications in the district and without avoidable delay?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

I will make inquiry in the matte, and let the hon. Member know as soon as possible what can be done.
