Colonel THORNEasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, at the tea auction held last Thursday at the London Commercial Sale Rooms, Mincing Lane, a resolution condemning the policy of giving preference to British-grown teas was carried with only one dissentient; whether at the auction in question practically every section of the tea industry was present; and whether he proposes to take any action in the matter?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINA copy of the resolution referred to has been forwarded to me, and I have noted the view taken at the meeting.
