HC Deb 04 June 1919 vol 116 cc2020-1W
Major PRESCOTT

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether the London County Council have submitted plans for a housing scheme on their White Hart Lane Estate, Tottenham; whether this scheme has received the approval of the Board; if he will give the character and number of houses for which provision is being made; and whether the Board will make it a condition that this estate shall be ear-marked for many Totenham families whose existing home conditions are admittedly unsatisfactory, and particularly in view of the fact that a large number of demobilised Service men are pressing for housing accommodation?

Mr. PRATT

No plans for the erection of houses on the estate to which the hon. and gallant Member refers have yet been submited to the Local Government Board. I am unable, therefore, to give at the pre sent time the information asked for in the third part of the question. As the hon. Member is aware, this estate was acquired by the London County Council for the purpose of providing housing accommodation for persons in the county of London.
