Mr. ATKEY

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that on the 5th May a telegram for the Central News, London, was handed in at the Nottingham Post Office by the Nottingham correspondent, stating that the rates of Nottingham had been raised to 13s.; whether the telegram as delivered gave the figure as 19 instead of 13, with the result that it was reported in the Press throughout the country that the rates of Nottingham had been increased to 19s.; if this was brought about by an error in the Post Office; and, having regard to the serious damage to the city's reputation and its prospects of obtaining new industries, what steps does he propose to take to deal with the offender and to secure for the truth the same publicity as was given to the libel?
