HC Deb 04 June 1919 vol 116 c2023W
Colonel WEDGWOOD

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he will direct the Public Records Office to restore now the facilities to students for consulting the Chancery proceedings, as the present slow production of these records for research work seriously hampers the use of the national records?

Mr. BALDWIN

The staff of the Public Record Office was considerably depleted during the War and has not yet been restored to its former number. The rate of production of records in the public search rooms will improve as the new men among the attendants learn their work.
