§ Mr. RAWLINSONasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will, without further delay, sanction the schemes of arrangement made between teachers and governing bodies of schools relative to the interests of teachers in existing pensions schemes submitted to and discussed by a deputation to him in July last, as the premiums on many policies become due this month and the uncertainty is causing grave inconvenience?

I regret the delay which has occurred in replying to the representations made to me by my hon. and learned Friend, but the cases are very various and some of them are very difficult, and I have found it impossible to frame any general rule applicable to all of them. I have, however, come to the conclusion that the decisions already given need revision, and this revision will be undertaken at once and the results communicated to the authorities concerned.
