HC Deb 15 December 1919 vol 123 cc54-5W
Mr. LUNN

asked the Minister of Food whether his attention has been called to a forthcoming issue by the United Dairies, Limited, of a further 500,000 £1 ordinary shares at a price of 22s. 6d. a share; and whether, in view of the present position with regard to the supply, distribution, and price of milk, and the possibility of early legislation on the matter, the Government will consider the desirability of not allowing this extension of a milk combine which already controls a large part of the London milk supply?

Mr. McCURDY

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The Food Controller does not consider it necessary to take any steps in the matter, in view of the fact that the price of milk is controlled at all stages.
