Mr. GRUNDY

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many established Civil servants are employed in the Coal Mines Department; how many are employed at salaries over £300 per annum; and what are those salaries?

There are fourteen established Civil servants employed in the Coal Mines Department, and of these seven are in receipt of salaries over £300 per annum. These salaries are:

  • One at £1,000 per annum.
  • Three at £700 per annum.
  • One at £550 per annum.
  • One at £450 per annum.
  • One at £380 per annum.
