HC Deb 15 December 1919 vol 123 c60W
Mr. CAIRNS

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he is aware that the draft book of William Lyver, O.S., Royal Navy, "Warwick," number of certificate N.G.L. 1294, was called in by the Pensions Issue Office on the 28th May last; that although that office was communicated with on the 26th November regarding reissue no reply has yet been received regarding this matter; and whether he will have inquiries made and give instructions that correspondence of this nature shall receive more prompt attention?

Sir J. CRAIG

On 7th May Mr. Lyver was provisionally awarded a weekly allowance of 5s. 6d. a week for thirteen weeks for myopic astigmatism, not attributable to service, but the award was cancelled a few weeks later on the ground that there was no disablement, and Mr. Lyver was informed accordingly and his allowance book withdrawn. A letter dated 26th November, 1919, was received from the National Union of Ex-Service Men and a reply was sent on 9th December.
