HC Deb 11 December 1919 vol 122 c1658W
Mr. HIRST

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can state the amount of coal that has been exported from the British Isles to America during the month of November, and to what ports or port was the same consigned?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

During the month of November, 1919, somewhat over 100,000 tons of coal were registered as having been exported from the United Kingdom to countries in South America, but I have not precise information as to the ports to which the coal was consigned. Of the total, about 70,000 tons were shipped to Argentine ports, 17,000 tons to Uruguay, and 12,000 tons to Brazil. There were no exports of coal to Central or North America during November.
