HC Deb 11 December 1919 vol 122 cc1643-4W
Colonel MILDMAY

asked the Minister of Food whether he will give consideration to the claim, under the order of his Ministry, of Messrs. Bourne and Sons, auctioneers, of Totnes, South Devon, preferred through the Devonshire Live Stock Commissioner, Exeter, in respect of public services rendered by the firm in Churstow (South Devon) market, and also to their claim to the prescribed payment of 30s. for clerical assistance; and whether, seeing that the two principals of the firm enlisted in the Cavalry at the outbreak of War and served overseas until disabled, he will make sure that their position is not prejudiced, pecuniarily or otherwise, by their patriotic action?

Mr. ROBERTS

No such claim as that described by the hon. and gallant Member has been received by my Department, which is in communication with the Live Stock Commissioner on the subject. The claim, if it arises, will receive every consideration.
