§ Mr. BALDWINThe Trustees of the British Museum are quite willing to arrange to keep the reading-room open until 7 p.m., as before the War, as soon as funds are available for the purpose; but no provision for this service was made in the Budget for the current year, and, in view of the small number of persons who use the room at these late hours, it does not seem expedient to make special provision for it by means of a Supplementary Estimate.
