Mr. G. MURRAYasked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will give the names of the Colonies in which a general revision of salaries is taking place?
§ Lieut.-Colonel AMERYThe Colonies in which a general revision a salaries is actually taking place are British Guiana, tile Windward Islands, British Honduras, Nigeria, and the other West African Colonies, the East African Protectorates, and the Gilbert and Ellice Islands. In addition to these, the question is under consideration in the Straits Settlements, Federated Malay States, Ceylon, Hong Kong, Weiheiwei, Mauritius, Barbados, Leeward Islands, Jamaica, St. Helena, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Cyprus, and Gibraltar. I may add that in most cases temporary increase of salaries by way of bonus has been granted pending revision.
