NORTON GRIFFITHSasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that it is now the general practice of railway companies to refuse to accept for return to machine-tool manufacturers empty cases in which their machines have been packed, and that as a consequence men are being employed in making cases who should be engaged in other work, and, in addition to the waste of wood, there is also the question of the carriage of the new cases which would not be needed if firms could recover those that had left their workshops; and if he will take steps to remedy this grievance?
