Lieut.-Colonel A. HERBERTasked the Food Controller if he is aware that the Midland Railway Company and others 2430W have been buying hay in large quantities at a price prohibitive to the small farmers; and what action he proposes to take in the matter?
§ Mr. McCURDYI am informed that the Midland Railway Company has made no purchases of this year's hay, but I am aware that in some cases hay has changed hands at prices which seem to me unduly high. The policy to be adopted in the matter of the hay crop for 1919 is now under the consideration of the Government, and I hope that an announcement will be made shortly.
