HC Deb 04 April 1919 vol 114 cc1553-4W
Sir HERBERT NIELD

asked the Food Controller at what date was the alteration in procedure made which dispensed with the necessity for applications under medical certificates for extra meat and butter rations to be referred to and determined by the medical section of the Ministry at Grosvenor Street, W.; and whether local food controllers are able to determine, and do in practice determine, applications for extra meat rations without reference to the medical section?

Mr. McCURDY

Food control committees have throughout been empowered to grant extra rations in the case of invalids suffering from a number of specified complaints. It is intended shortly to extend their powers to cases outside the present Schedule.
