asked the President of the Board of Trade whether permits and licences for the use of cars in election contests are only to be valid from the date of the issue of the writ or from the date of notice of intention to issue the Proclamation?

The special permits and licences which will be issued to Parliamentary candidates and their election agents will be valid during the seven days preceding the issue of the writ as well as during the period between the issue of the writ and the day following the close of the poll.
