§ Colonel BURNasked the Home Secretary if he will introduce legislation to permit seagulls' eggs to be gathered for edible purposes?
§ Sir G. CAVEArrangements for the collection and marketing for food purposes of the edible varieties of gulls' eggs have been under consideration and are now being pushed forward by the Departments concerned. No legislation is required, but in places where Orders prohibiting the taking of such eggs were in force under the Wild Birds Protection Acts, and where the eggs are likely to be found in any considerable quantity, the Orders have been suspended with the concurrence of the local authorities until June.
