§ Mr. CAREWasked the Minister of National Service if he is aware of the waste of time and money incurred by sending a large number of war-work volunteers to Glasgow this month, for shipbuilding purposes, when on arrival there was no possibility of obtaining lodgings and they were told to return home; and whether these men sent from all parts of England, will be paid for their loss of time?
§ Mr. BECKI am aware that certain difficulties in connection with accommodation occurred in connection with certain men sent to Glasgow for shipbuilding work. The claims from the men in question are now under consideration. The necessary steps have been taken to avoid such difficulties in the future.
