§ Colonel ASHLEYasked the Pensions Minister whether, in view of the fact that warrant officers, non-commissioned officers, and men who are entitled to a disability pension and who not having completed fourteen years' service with the Colours are not entitled to a service pension, he will take steps to amend the Royal Warrant for pay and pensions so as to provide that. a man who has re-engaged to complete twenty-one years' service may receive the service pension in addition to a disability pension if discharged as unfit for further service?
§ Mr. FORSTERService pensions remain in the sphere of the War Office. Certain questions relating to mixed disability and service pension are under consideration, but I can hold out no hope that re-engagement, which may take place as early as the tenth year of service, will be regarded as constituting in itself a claim to service pension.
