§ Mr. GILBERTasked the President of the Local Government Board whether the Local Government Board have issued to registration officers any general or special directions with respect to the arrangements to be made for a house-to-house canvass of their areas and for otherwise carrying out their duties in connection with the preparation of the register; and what is likely to be the date of the expiration of the qualifying period with respect to the first register of electors under the Act?
Mr. FISHERI hope to be in a position shortly to issue Instructions on the matters referred to in the first part of the question. I am not in a position to state at the moment the date which will be fixed as the last day of the qualifying period.
