asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has any information as to what war taxation has been imposed in the Isle of Man?

Since the outbreak of War the duties on beer and tobacco have been doubled and the following increases made:—

Motor spirit … Nil to 6d.
Cocoa … Nil to 1½
Sugar … 1s. 10d. to 9s. 4d.
Coffee … 1d. to 3d.
Tea … 5d. to 11d.
then to 8d.

As regards details, reference may be made to the Isle of Man (Customs) Acts, 1916 and 1917. The question of direct taxation is under consideration.
